Go Dutchmen!

Welcome to HS Boys Soccer Season 2017/2018

The Guilderland Boys Soccer Season kicked off on Monday (8/14) with over fifty players articipating in the program's tryouts for both, Junior Varsity and Varsity players. Coach Kinnally now enters his fifteenth year at the helm as head coach of the Dutchmen following a 14-win season in 2016.

This year, there will be some changes to the coaching stuff at Guilderland. Jordan Weeden joins the coaching staff as the new Junior Varsity Coach. Weeden, an alumnus of the Dutchmen Program replaces Coach Bill Bogue who has left to become the new Varsity Coach at Schenectady HS. We wich Coach Weeden and Coach Bogue the best of luck in their first seasons.

The Dutchmen return a successful group of Seniors from last year's squad including starters Adam Couture, Alex Mendel, Nick Honan, Marco Sciochetti, and a large group of players who saw significant playing time on the field. This year's tryouts saw a large group of Juniors who will be battling for time with the returning players. The 2017 squad has a roster of twenty-two players while the Junior Varsity will be carrying nineteen.

The Dutchmen will be participating in two scrimmage scambles this season, at Niskayuna on August 23rd and home on August 25th. Both kicking off at 9:00 am and wrapping up around noon each day. The season kicks off on Tuesday August 29th as the Dutchmen travel to Troy HS for their opening match. In a unique twist, the team will play three league games before opening day of school. You can check out the team's full schedule on this website by clicking on "all boys schedule" on the left.

Coach Kinnally is intruigued by this group when asked to comment on this year's team. "This is an interesting group this season. We have a lot of players with similar talents and it will be a goal as always to get them play together as a unit. There is a lot of talent, but we all know that it takes more than that to win in a league like ours." You can follow both teams' season on the program's website, with statistics, scores, and game summaries. So, make sure you check up on the teams and we appreciate everyone's support of the program!
